I will never forget one paticular camping trip with Scouts. We went up to Silverdale and this one paticular night, all the leaders were round the campfire when the kids had gone to bed. If memory serves me correctly, Steve was on Skol lager along with a few others. After a few cans and a few laughs around thr campfire, Steve went to get up from the log he’d been sat on and lost his balance. He fell backwards into the campfire and without hesitation Ted Cooper pulled him out quick as a flash. What made us all laugh the hardest was thag not only did he pull him out of the fire he pulled him that hard he flee into a bush behind the log he’d been sitting on. Its a memory that will never leave me and one i’ll always remember fondly. Steve was a great man and growing up with him as my Scout Leader and eventually someone i’d call friend. You’ll be missed greatly.
